Under the Stars

Edited to add:  I am shouting from the rooftops as I am Swanky Stamper for September.  This means that when The Cat's Pajamas has their next release, I'm going to receive their new stamp sets and dies and play along with the Cat Pack in the sneaky peek posts!  I am super excited and can't wait!  You can read all about it here at Alma's blog.

Today it is cloudy and cold here in Colorado.  Perfect stamping weather (and gaming weather if you would ask my two boys).  There was still just a wee bit of time left on the Linky for the August TCP Tuesday challenge so I thought I would try another go at the long, tall card.  I'm a slow card maker, and an even slower blogger sometimes so I KNEW this would be a challenge.

The stars of the show are those super cute Penguins Larry and Darryl from the newly released set Under the Stars.  The other brother Darryl is probably off trying to pet PJ the bear in the woods somewhere.  All the patterned paper used is from my hoarded coveted October Afternoon Campfire paper stack.  Lots of TCP dies are making an appearance here too (namely Cloud Border, Grass, Big Scallop, and Pinking Border).  Some Divine Twine ties off a Simply Chartreuse button to finish off the bottom of the card.

Here is a detail shot of the cute penguins and copic coloring.

August TCP Tuesday challenge

Every year at Skyway Elementary, there is an annual Camping with the Comets event at the school grounds.  There is star gazing, a campfire and smores, a movie projected up against the school and the fun of pitching a tent on the upper field and spending the night.  This will be my oldest son's last official campout as he will be going to Junior High next year.  This card will be for him!

Thanks for stopping by!

Linda

Adorable, Linda! Thanks for stopping by my blog this morning, I wanted to answer your question about the snow on the skiis (and I'll adjust my blog post to add this). I used Martha Stewart's Craft Glue on the skis and then poured embossing powder on top - no I didn't heat emboss it, just left it as is!

Wonderful cards! Love the tall format, really means you have room for all those details!
